INSCMagazine: Get Social!

In 2016, the Chargers played their final season in San Diego. In 2017, the team finds themselves in Los Angeles. The now Los Angeles Chargers are facing many questions as they wind down their offseason. Let us tackle three of the bigger questions that they face. I hope that we answer yours along the way.

The order of these questions will be from least to most important.

  1. Will the Chargers be able to run the football?

The Los Angeles Chargers invested a lot into a shady offensive line. Two of their first three picks in 2017 NFL Draft went towards this area. The new coaching staff there in Los Angeles knows that it takes an o-line to be effective. Without an O-line, you cannot run the ball. The Chargers have Melvin Gordon just waiting to have a breakout season. Keep your eye on the Los Angeles Chargers run game in 2017.

  1. Will Keenan Allen return to form?

The Chargers needed to improve the weaponry for Philip Rivers. Especially with the uncertain health of number one receiver Keenan Allen. To secure the spot they took WR Mike Williams from Clemson in the first round. The Chargers had to do this because of the uncertainty of Allen. If Allen can return to 80% of himself, the Los Angeles Chargers should have a solid air attack in 2017.

  1. How much longer will they have Philip Rivers?

This has been a question for the past few years. Now in 2017, the answer becomes an important one. The 2017 NFL Draft could have been a perfect opportunity to draft some depth at the most important position in the league. Players like DeShone Kizer, David Webb, or Nathan Peterman would have been ideal candidates to sit behind Rivers and learn. Who better to learn behind than Philip Rivers as well?

The Los Angeles Chargers will be asking the most important question again in 2018. If they do not find the answer to that soon, it could be a long time before a winner returns to this organization. The one thing Chargers have done is get younger. Often in the NFL that translates to wins. Will this be the case for this team in 2017? We will see in due time.
