The second game of the National League Divisional Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals was supposed to take place on Saturday afternoon, but with rains hitting Washington D.C., the game had to be postponed. As a result, the game was moved to Sunday afternoon and will take place at 1:00 EST in the Nation’s Capital.

Game two will see Rich Hill take the ball for the Dodgers and Tanner Roark for the Nationals. Game two action will see the Dodgers ahead in the series 1-0 after taking down the Nationals in game one in a game that saw both teams throw their aces. Both Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer struggled a bit to open the series, but ultimately Kershaw came out on top, with free agent to be Kenley Jansen closing the door with a five-out save.

With the postponement, the two teams will lose out on their travel day between games two and three. At the conclusion of this one, the two teams will have to fly across the country to Los Angeles. Game three will be taking place on Monday at 4:00 EST. It will be interesting to see how this will effect the teams as we move forward in the series.

Another way the postponed game will impact the series is the use of the starting pitchers. If there is a game four, the Dodgers will be going with rookie Julio Urias. There was the possibility that Clayton Kershaw could have returned if the Dodgers had been down 2-1. But since Rich Hill would now be unable to pitch in a potential game five, Kershaw will be saved. But the Dodgers may not have to worry about things getting that far, especially if they can win game two in Washington. A win on Sunday would leave the Dodgers one win away from a series victory.
