On Sunday afternoon the Miami Dolphins (5-4), winners of 4 straight travel to take on the Los Angeles Rams (4-5). This game begins a new era for the LA Rams. It begins the Jared Goff era. Will he provide the spark needed to pull out a victory? Are you buying or selling the LA Rams to get a victory against the Miami Dolphins?

Rams Offense vs Dolphins Defense

The offense of the Los Angeles Rams has hit a wall in recent weeks. Thus the reason for the switch the rookie QB Jared Goff. Can he put a charge in the 31st ranked offense (308 yards/game)? It will be a tough road against the Miami Dolphins defense that had found its way over the past couple of weeks. The Dolphins and their 20th ranked defense (365 yards/game) are led by a solid secondary. They currently rank 9th in the NFL in pass defense (236 yards/game). I do not see this playing in the favor of Jared Goff. If the Rams are going to have any success it’s going to be on the ground, with Todd Gurley, against the Dolphins 30th ranked run defense (130 yards/game).

Rams Defense vs Dolphins Offense

The Los Angeles Rams have always been known for having a solid defense. That is the case again in 2016. The Rams rank in the top 10 in 2 out of 3 statistical defensive categories. They are 8th against the pass (225 yards/game) and they are the 7th ranked defense overall (327 yards/game). They should be able to find some success against a Dolphins offense that has been inconsistent in 2016. The Dolphins could find success on the ground, if they can find a way to get Jay Ajayi and the 6th ranked rush offense (120 yards/game) going against the 17th ranked (103 yards/game) rush defense of the Rams.

This game may end up being a battle of the running backs. With neither team being very strong against the run and both are top 10 against the pass, the running backs could have their way. The Rams have that one large thing working against them this week. The rookie’s first game. I feel that this, in some way, will cost them. I am selling the Los Angeles Rams in week 11.
