MIAMI – Thanks to the recent sighting of pop star Justin Bieber courtside in Game One of the 2013 NBA Finals, the Miami Heat are arguably the hottest ticket in sports.

The Los Angeles Lakers are known for having courtside celebrities such as Jack Nicholson and Denzel Washington and the New York Knicks is known for Spike Lee and Woody Allen as regular fans.

While multi-platinum icon Jimmy Buffett of “Margaritaville” fame has been a longtime fan of the Heat, other celebrities such as Sylvester Stallone and David Beckham have also been seen courtside at the AAA.

Thanks to a combination of beautiful beaches, nightlife, sexy women and the arrival of LeBron James and Chris Bosh in 2010, the who’s-who of hip-hop have now become regulars at Heat games.

Artists such as Flo Rida, Rick Ross, Pit Bull, Mic Nice and CEO of Cash Money Records, Birdman(not to be confused with the more colorful and equally multi-inked Chris Anderson), CEO of Bad Boy Entertainment, P. Diddy and multi-platinum superstars such as Kanye West, Drake and Lil Wayne are now part of the regular hip-hop royalty holding court among the King’s men.

That along with the influx of artists and producers already recording and living in the 305, and Miami has a music scene that rivals any in the industry.

In addition to being a more urban and cosmopolitan melting pot of music, basketball and paradise, what draws many in the hip-hop community to Heat Nation is the chance to being witness to one of the greatest teams ever assembled in recent NBA history and the exciting brand of athleticism and glorified street ball that the Heat play that makes them exciting to watch.

There is a saying that goes, “rappers want to be ballers, and ballers want to be rappers” while many cannot forsee Drake running a fast break and spotting up for a transition three anytime soon, thanks to it’s glitzy lineup of stars, beaches and location, Miami is the new “it” place to be if you’re a hip-hop and hoops fan.
