We are still over two months away from the start of the NBA season. Some of the writers at Inscriber Magazine will be previewing the NBA teams.
The team I will be looking made it to the playoffs last season and will be entering a new era this season. Miami Heat won their division last season at 48-34. They would end up grabbing the third seed and unfortunately they would end up losing to the Toronto Raptors 4-3.
The biggest piece that the Heat lost during the offseason was Dwayne Wade, who decided to sign with his hometown team the Chicago Bulls. What makes it more difficult for Heat fans to swallow is that they didn’t replace him. They ended up signing Dion Waiters, Okaro White, Tyler Johnson, Willie Reed and Stefan Jankovic. They were able to resign James Johnson, Udonis Haslem, and Derrick Williams.
I did a piece a while back on the Cavs having a tough road back. In that article, I talked about how I felt Miami would not make the playoffs this season. They won’t make the playoff this season because they are going to be a group of scrap players. Another indication is if you look at how Miami did against the Warriors, Spurs, Clippers, Lakers, and Timberwolves.
Against those four teams, the Miami Heat went 3-9. I see that going down a bit being that all those teams improved during the off- season. If you look at the East with the Bulls, Knicks, Raptors, Cavs, Magic, and Hawks, the Heat went a surprising 16-6. This win percentage should go down this season due the other teams improving.
I will probably come out with my predictions on the standings later on, but I see the Heat dropping way below .500. Sorry South Beach fans, but the run you guys had with Lebron, Dwayne, and Chris Bosh is a distant memory.
