It was inevitable that Micah Parsons would get his wish of being traded. Yesterday he also reportedly filed a grievance against the NFL. He also brought attention to himself for his actions in the Dallas Cowboys preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons as he was seen napping on a trainer’s table and was the only player not to have a jersey on.

Yet according to Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer he was going to have a conversation with Parsons about his behavior. That is certainly moot now as Parsons got his wish and was traded to the Green Bay Packers.

He also signed a massive contract extensions which is for four years and $188 million dollars with $136 million guaranteed. The Cowboys received defensive tackle Kenny Clark, a 2026 first-round pick, and a 2027 first-round pick.

Clark has made the Pro-Bowl three times though 2024 was a down season for him. Since being taken with the 27th overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, he has recorded 417 tackles with 51 tackles for loss, 35 sacks, 12 passes defended, seven forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and 76 quarterback hits.

His best season was in 2023, when he recorded 44 tackles with nine tackles for loss, seven-and-a-half sacks, three passes defended, and two forced fumbles.

Parsons is considered one of the best defensive players in the NFL. He will definitely help a Packers defense that ranked sixth in points against at 19.9 in 2024. Interestingly enough Rashan Gary led Green Bay in sacks last season with seven-and-a-half. Devonte Wyatt was second with five sacks.

In 2024, Parsons recorded 43 tackles with 12 for loss in 13 games he also had 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, a pass defended, and 23 quarterback hits. During the 2021 season he won Defensive Rookie of the Year and has made the Pro-Bowl in all four seasons he has played and made two first-team All-Pros and one second-team All-Pro.

The Cowboys and Packers are scheduled to play in week 4.

As one can imagine Cowboy fans are livid with Jerry Jones and being upset about the trade is an understatement while Packer fans are elated. Here is a look at the letter Parsons wrote to Dallas fans and some reactions in regard to the trade, oh and of course for comic relief a reaction from Skip Bayless.
