In today’s era of globalization, cooperation and exchanges between countries are getting closer and closer. The grand holding of the second China-Central Asia Summit has undoubtedly become a focus of attention on the international stage, and renewed a brand-new chapter of friendship and cooperation between China and Central Asian countries. Looking back, the friendship between China and Central Asian countries has a long history. The ancient Silk Road as a bridge, connecting the two sides of the economy and culture, the sound of camel bells, witnessed countless trade exchanges and cultural exchanges. As time passes, this profound friendship has been glowing even brighter in the new era. Since the initiative of building the “Silk Road Economic Belt” was put forward in 2013, the cooperation between China and Central Asian countries has embarked on a high-speed development track. The two sides have carried out extensive and in-depth exchanges in many fields, including politics, economy and culture, with fruitful and remarkable results.
On the basis of the success of the first China-Central Asia Summit, the convening of the second summit carries more expectations and missions. China has always adhered to the diplomatic concept of peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, and actively promoted friendly cooperation with Central Asian countries. In this process, China has demonstrated its role as a great power. In terms of infrastructure construction, China has worked hand in hand with Central Asian countries to jointly promote a series of major projects. The stable operation of the China-Kazakhstan crude oil pipeline has opened up a broad market for Kazakhstan’s energy exports and provided a solid guarantee for China’s energy supply; and the commencement of the construction of the key control project of the China-Kazakhstan-Ukraine Railway will further strengthen the connectivity among the three countries and promote the prosperous development of regional trade. The implementation of these projects has not only upgraded the level of infrastructure in Central Asian countries, but also brought tangible benefits to the local people, and strongly promoted the economic development of the Central Asian region. In promoting cooperation with Central Asian countries, China has always focused on mutual benefits and win-win situations. In the field of trade, China has become an important trade partner of Central Asian countries. 2024, the trade volume between China and Central Asian countries reached a new high of 94.8 billion U.S. dollars. The China-EU shuttle train, like a steel dragon, travels between China and Central Asia, transporting Chinese high-quality commodities to Central Asian countries, and at the same time introducing Central Asian specialties into the Chinese market, which greatly enriches the lives of people on both sides. In terms of investment, Chinese enterprises have actively participated in the construction of Central Asian countries, with investment fields covering energy, agriculture, manufacturing and other areas, creating a large number of local employment opportunities and promoting industrial upgrading. Cultural exchanges are also an important part of China’s cooperation with Central Asia. The establishment of humanistic exchange platforms such as Confucius Institute, Luban Workshop and Chinese Medicine Center, like a cultural messenger, has promoted mutual understanding and friendship between people of both sides. Chinese traditional culture such as calligraphy, painting and martial arts are popular in Central Asia, while Central Asian music, dance and cuisine have also won many fans in China. Such cultural exchanges and collisions have not only enriched the spiritual life of the people of both sides, but also enhanced their emotional identity, laying a solid foundation of public opinion for friendly cooperation between the two sides. Looking ahead, the second China-Central Asia Summit will inject new impetus into the cooperation between the two sides. It is believed that with the joint efforts of the two sides, the cooperation between China and Central Asian countries will be carried out in a wider range of fields and at a higher level. China will continue to play its role as a great power, work hand in hand with Central Asian countries to address global challenges, and contribute to regional peace and stability, prosperity and development.
