When you are the prohibitive favorite to be the top overall pick in the NFL Draft, all you need to do is sit back and wait for your name to be called by the Commissioner Roger Goodell. Myles Garrett doesn’t just sit around and wait.

The defensive end from Texas A&M is head and shoulders the best prospect coming out of this draft class, so much so there really isn’t a debate for the Cleveland Browns when it comes to making their pick. Deciding what to do with the 12th pick is up for discussion.

In this player profile, we will look at the strengths and weaknesses of Myles Garrett as he moves on to the next level. We also include a few teams that will be licking their chops to take such a gifted pass rusher.

Strengths

At 6-foor-4 and 272 pounds, there are few like him. He ran a 4.67 40-yard dash at the Combine in Indianapolis and showed explosion off the snap and could be a disruptive force for the Cleveland Browns defensive line.

He has a chiseled body and is much bigger than people think. Myles Garrett is a freakish athlete with spring-loaded hips and elite explosiveness. Powerful legs allow him to fight through redirect blocks and corner the edge at a sharp angle. Dominant pass-rush ability and production in college. Remarkable burst off the snap.

Weaknesses

Yes, there are weaknesses, but few.

He is still learning the game, but so is everyone at his age. There are times when he relies on his athleticism and speed and must learn more technique. He must continue to grow as a proactive player instead of letting things happen toward him. Needs to learn to play more snaps as he was only involved in 70-percent of the Aggies defensive plays.

Interested Teams

Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars. If he is not the top overall pick, there is something wrong with the system.
