Less than 48 hours after being acquired from Boston for a pair of second-round picks and four players who weren’t in Cleveland plans, Keith Bogans was traded from the Cavs to Philadelphia on Saturday. They are saving $5.3 million which is what Bogans would have received for his salary.

Cleveland also sent the 76ers a second-round pick in 2018. The Cavs got a highly protected second-round pick in 2015 and $5.3 million trade exception. Cleveland’s pick from Philadelphia is protected from Nos. 31-50 and 50-60, meaning it is unlikely to be conveyed to the Cavs.  This pick could be sent from the 76ers to Boston to complete an earlier trade.

The Cavs have one year to use the trade exception obtained from Philadelphia, but it can’t be combined with $10.5 million, non-guaranteed contract of veteran center, Brendan Haywood in 2015-16.
