CLEVELAND – After a thrilling 99-94 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, their eighth straight, could the (27-20) Cleveland Cavaliers be getting a blast from the past?

According to HoopsRumors.com via Darren Wolfson of ESPN 1500 Twin Cities, the Minnesota Timberwolves are open to trading point guard Mo Williams, with the Cavaliers, Clippers and Heat rumored to be interested.

A 12-year veteran out of Alabama, Williams is averaging 12.5 points, 6.4 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 36 games for the T-Wolves.

During his two years in Cleveland in 2008-09 and 2009-10, Williams proved to be a capable scoring guard opposite LeBron James in averaging 16.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists. Williams also showed that he was a durable asset in Cleveland in averaging 75 games played.

In reportedly seeking a draft pick for Williams, the most likely role that Williams would serve in a possible second stint in Cleveland would be as a backup to Kyrie Irving and J.R. Smith.
