What will happen if the Chicago Bulls were to pull off one of the best trades in NBA history? The Bulls have shown interest Los Angeles Clippers PF, Blake Griffin to possibly team him with Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler, and Rajon Rondo. If the Clippers have a slight fear that Griffin will depart after this season they may need to pull the trigger and start looking towards the future.
With Griffin, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan the Clips have yet to make a Finals appearance and while they still have the same core, they are not getting any younger. Teams in the West have improved this offseason and will be knocking on the door of the Clippers looking to gain their usual position as one of the top teams in the conference.

Let’s say this deal were to happen, then the Bulls will have the best starting five in the East. The Cavs will send out LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love but it’s still no match for the Windy City team. Rondo led the NBA in assists in 2015, Wade is still the best SG in the NBA, Butler is a two-way dominant player and adding Griffin will only increase their chances as being the top seed heading into the playoffs.
It’s a stretch, there is only one ball but they will be a veteran team that has come together to win a ring. Rondo and Wade have been there, they know what it takes and both have sacrificed personal success for the betterment of the team in their past. Butler understands how close he was to being in the position as the 76ers with not much talent surrounding him after Rose and Noah left. Griffin will not need any major game or attitude adjustments if he was to join. The Clips are still Paul’s team and he understood that.
The Clippers must hit the drawing board again and with the possible players being added into the trade discussion, Taj Gibson, and Nikola Mirotic, they will be going just that. While neither player has his talent, the Clippers will still be grateful to get something back for nothing. Griffin, if he is smart should bolt the Clippers next season and start anew. If a trade happens before then, good, if not the Clips may find themselves in the same boat OKC was in this year.
