The Virginia Cavaliers are the top team in college basketball and top team in the ACC. Coming off a regular season win of the conference they were obviously the number one seed in their tournament.

Cavaliers benefiting from a straight bye to the quarterfinals got underway Thursday against Louisville.

Louisville a team hit with scandal this year were hit with a beat down in this game. At the 12:28 mark Louisville lead by two, but from there Virginia stepped on the gas and never looked back. Cavaliers would go into the half up 11.

Playing pretty evenly in the second half Virginia maintained their lead. Only managed to grow their lead by six in the second half to win by 17.

Player of the game: Kyle Guy (17 points, 7 rebounds, 7-14 FG, 4-6 3PT)

Next up on their slate is a semifinal matchup against Clemson. The Tigers got off to a quick start and even getting to a 20-13 lead halfway through the first half.

From this point on the Cavaliers played Virginia basketball. Like to call it, “wear ya down and take ya lunch money.” My guy Hamm would say, “they’ll put you in the mud.” Whatever the case may be, the Cavs came up big. Outscoring Clemson by 13 points the rest of the way.

Virginia wins this contest by a score of 64-58.

While Guy shot and played well. Jerome distributed the ball well and played amazing defense, which lead to him being the player of the game.

After a Duke Vs. Carolina matchup that sent Carolina to the championship game the table was set.

Anticipating a great game that Theo Pinson and the Tar Heels had a decent shot. Once the 17:37 mark in the first half, Tar Heels never saw the lead again. Cavaliers brand basketball from this point out. Pinson played terrible, but Maye would have a solid game.

Every time the Tar Heels look to be on a run, Virginia answered.

Virginia defeated the Tar Heels, 71-63.

Guy again with an outstanding performance, making him the player of the game.

Virginia will more than likely be the number one overall seed in the NCAA tournament and a very tough team to handle. May be the team best equipped to grind a game out and beat you in any way possible.
