One of the biggest AFC East rivalries will meet this Sunday. The 3-5 New York Jets head down to Miami and play their AFC East rivalries, the 3-4 Miami Dolphins. The New York Jets have won the last three meetings going back to the final week of the 2014 season. This game is very crucial for both teams as the winner of this game could be one step closer to making the playoffs. It would still be a long shot for that to happen for both teams, but whoever wins on Sunday could make that a reality.

Let’s first look at the 3-5 New York Jets, they are coming off a win last week as they came back to continue the misery for the Cleveland Browns by the score of 31-28. After starting the season off with a record of 1-5, they have turned out two straight wins against the the Browns and Ravens. Unfortunately, it has been not easy for the Jets in the early goings of the 2016 season. Ryan Fitzpatrick ended up losing the starting role after throwing nine interceptions in two weeks, then Geno Smith got hurt and Fitzpatrick was brought back in. There were Jets fans who wanted head coach Todd Bowles to be fired. Also, it should be noted that the Jets had a wrath of injuries. Somehow they are back into the Wild Card picture with a win on Sunday down in Miami.

On the other side, you have a 3-4 Miami Dolphins team coming into this game coming off a bye week. However, prior to their bye-week,they were on a two-game winning streak with wins over the Steelers and the Bills. Just like the Jets came out bad in the early goings of the season, the Dolphins also came out bad as they started off with a record of 1-4. This may be a stretch, but if you take out the interceptions thrown by Ryan Fitzpatrick, him and Ryan Tannehill have similar offensive numbers as they both have over 1,700 passing yards and have each thrown seven touchdowns.
