Today Caitlin Clark made her home debut for the Indiana Fever against the New York Liberty. It is one that she will need to forget rather quickly.

Clark once again struggled with her shooting finishing 2-8 from the field including 1-7 from three, she did make all four of her free throws. The positive was that she did limit her turnovers to three and did wind up with seven rebounds and six assists. Yet it was not her who struggled shooting as Indiana finished 22-60 from the field.

Unfortunately Breanna Stewart and the Liberty set the tone from the start. Quickly racing to a 9-2 lead and finishing with a 25-16 lead after one. The second quarter was not much better for the Fever only scoring 15 points, and trailing by 17 at halftime.

The Fever had an answer late in the third quarter cutting a 23 point lead by the Liberty to 11. Any chance of a comeback were quickly erased as New York’s defense set the tone and allowed only 10 points in the quarters.

Offensively, the Liberty also dominated the fourth with 35 points, with the final score 102-66.

Stewart finished with 31 points and 10 rebounds, Jonquel Jones and Sabrina Ionescu scored 14 points each, and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton added 12. Leading the way for the Fever Aliyah Boston who scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Katie Lou Samuelson was the only other player in double figures with 10 points.

New York improves to 2-0 on the season, while Indiana falls to 0-2.
