Rick Perry Indicted on Two Counts of Abuse Of Power: Republican governor of Texas and possible 2016 presidential contender, Rick Perry, was indicted by a Travis County grand jury on Friday for two counts of abuse of power—both of which are felonies.
Per the AP, Perry carried out a threat to veto to cut two years and $7.5 million in funding for the public integrity unit, run by Travis County District Rosemary Lehmberg, was charged by an Austin grand jury on felony counts of abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant.
If convicted, Perry’s maximum punishment on the first charge if give to 99 years in prison and the second is two to 10 years.

Missouri governor Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency and implemented a curfew for all residents of the predominantly African-American St. Louis suburb of Ferguson Saturday, after riots, nighttime looting and vandalism of businesses broke out over the furor of Brown’s death.
The mandatory curfew for all residents is scheduled to run from midnight to 5 a.m.
