With week one of the NFL season in the books, here is the InscriberMag’s NFC East Week One Roundup.

Dallas Cowboys (0-1) Fall to San Francisco 49ers (1-0) 28-17.  Tony Romo was found suspect in front of an alleged home crowd Sunday. The Cowboys struggled to stay in the game, and never really had control. In fact, this game was over in the first quarter because they were trailing by 18.  When the smoke cleared, there were already three interceptions thrown by the first half. Add the red jerseys amongst the more than 90,000 in attendance, the Cowboys had no help coming from nowhere.

Colin Kaepernick completed 16 out of 23 for 201 yards, with two touchdowns. Romo finished the day with 23 completions for 287 yards. The stats were completely lopsided as Dallas had more first downs, passing yards and total yards. The Cowboys even held the ball a few minutes longer.

None of that mattered.

The Cowboys face the Tennessee Titans in Week 2.

Washington Redskins (0-1) Lose Season Opener to Houston Texans (1-0). In what many felt was the Redskins game to win, they lost 17-6.  They, just like the Cowboys suffered early with turnovers and missed opportunities to take complete control of a game that watched J.J. Watt dominate the Redskins offensive line.  Redskins Quarterback Robert Griffin III struggled to make things happen amid the three sacks and two fumbles he encountered during the game. It only got worse: Special teams coughed up a punt and a point after.  Week 2 the Redskins will face the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1).

RG3 finished the game with 29 completions for 267 yards. Running Back Alfred Morris finished with only 91 yards rushing.

Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) Gets First Win for NFC East, Beating Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) 34-17. At first, it appeared the NFC East would start Week 1 in complete embarrassment, but the Eagles managed to come back from a 17-point deficit to beat the Jaguars in convincing fashion.  Quarterback Nick Foles threw for 322 yards and running back LeSean McCoy rushed for 74 yards as the Eagles destroyed the Jaguars in the Second half.

Notes: Pending on how the New York Giants play against the Detroit Lions Monday night, the NFC East is nowhere near identifying a standout at the top. Fans should however, expect a breakout team in Week 3 as the dust settles and teams zero in on their march to Week 5. Everyone’s pace was completely off Sunday, so analysis this week is mixed.
