According to media reports and an official statement from the NFL at the NFL Spring meetings down in Key Biscayne, Florida, Cleveland has been awarded the 2021 NFL Draft.

First reported by as rumor in Twitter, the speculation officially became reality as Cleveland was awarded the 86th NFL Draft, which coincides with the franchise’s 75th anniversary.

Thanks to a joint effort between the Greater Cleveland Sports Commision and the franchise, the NFL Draft is expected to draw close to 250k to the greater Cleveland area and generate an estimated $400 million into the Northeast Ohio economy.

Set to host the upcoming 2019 MLB All-Star Game in July, the NBA All-Star Game in 2022 and the NCAA Women’s Final Four In 2024, the 2021 NFL Draft is a major feather in the cap of a city that has often been portrayed as downtrodden and the butt of national jokes.

Thanks to a resurgence under Baker Mayfield and Super Bowl expectations, The Land will be the place to be for major sporting events for the next five years.
