CLEVELAND – Are the Cleveland Browns looking to deal Johnny Manziel to the Philadelphia Eagles for recently-acquired Sam Bradford? Doubtful, and here’s why.

According to Mack Ferguson of ChatSports.com, the Eagles and Browns are in the middle of talks that would see the two teams exchange former Heisman Trophy winners.

No April Fools joke here, readers!

Cleveland, who currently have the 12th and 19th picks in the up-coming 2015 NFL Draft are looking for ways to upgrade the quarterback position.

If the Browns feel Manziel is not the man to lead them going forward, then one can see why they allegedly offered a first-rounder for Bradford, but considering the uncertainty at QB in Cleveland, this move makes zero sense. While Manziel has had his issues on and off the field, such a move—which will likely cost them one of their first two first-rounders, it would also be extremely short-sighted and proverbially idiotic considering Bradford’s extensive injury history and that the former St. Louis Ram will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year

A trade for Bradford makes this not only a move for the short-term and not the long-term, which is what Cleveland needs. It would also deprive the Browns an option of using an invaluable first-rounder on a position of key need.

While we are in the midst of what’s called “silly season” in terms of rumors and possible moves, for a team such as the Browns to trade its possible franchise quarterback of the future in Manziel for an immobile brittle and gun-shy QB is Bradford, would be the silliest move of all.

What do you think? Should the Browns trade Manziel for Bradford?
