The Chicago Blackhawks are the only team left unbeaten in regulation and they remain atop the rankings.  There is a little movement among the top five.

  1. Chicago Blackhawks (12-0-3) Last Week:1 – Is there any doubt as to who is the best team in hockey is?  The Hawks have yet to lose in regulation, thanks to that high powered offense.  Even with Corey Crawford missing the last two games the Blackhawks keep on moving along.
  2. Anaheim Ducks (12-2-1) LW:4 – It finally seems they are getting some love from the media, which they deserve.  They have won five-in-a-row now and have a 7-1-1 record on the road.  They beat the Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings, and Chicago Blackhawks last week.
  3. Pittsburgh Penguins (11-5-0) LW:6 – Pittsburgh is 8-3-0 in their last 11-games and have now found themselves in first in the Atlantic Division.  After losing both parts of a home-and-home they Pens have now won three-in-a-row.
  4. New Jersey Devils (9-3-4) LW:2 – New Jersey had a tough week as they went 1-2-1 and saw their division lead disappear.  Last night the Devils fell to the Ottawa Senators in a shootout and Saturday they fell to the New York Islanders.
  5. Montréal Canadiens (10-4-1) LW:13 – You don’t know one week to the next what you are getting from this team.  Winners of their last four the Canadiens find themselves back inside the top ten again.  The Habs need to put together a more consistent effort of they are going to go anywhere.
