This Monday Night’s Football Game comes to you live from Mexico City, Mexico in one of the better games to wrap up Week 11. The 7-2 Oakland Raiders are set to play the 6-3 Houston Texans as these are two teams set to make a run at the playoffs. These are two franchises who have been below average for years and are now turning it around very quickly.
Let us first look at the Oakland Raiders. They are coming into this game with a record of 7-2 and due to how competitive the AFC happens to be this season are currently holding the fifth seed. They are also tied for first with the Chiefs and are a game ahead in the loss column of the Super Bowl champions Denver Broncos. They are entering this game currently riding a three-game winning streak that saw the Raiders grab wins over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.
As far as this game goes, it is crucial for both teams. It is crucial for the Raiders because they don’t have much room between them, the Chiefs, and the Broncos. Also, the Texans defense will need to slow down Derick Carr, Amari Cooper, and Latavius Murray who have all helped carry the Raiders offense.
On the other side, you have the Houston Texans. They are entering this game with a record of 6-3 and currently hold the #3 seed in the AFC. After starting the season off 2-0, the Texans have gone 4-3 and it feels that they end up flip flopping every week. This game is big for the Texans because like the Raiders, the Texans also only hold a one-game lead in the AFC South over the Tennessee Titans. It will, however, be interesting to see if the offense starts picking it up.
Unlike the Raiders who have had success with Carr, the Texans have not had the same success with Brock Osweiler. He has done average for them this season, but he is clearly showing that he is not worth the contract that he was signed to during the offseason.
