INSCMagazine: Get Social!

Lily James is living out every young girl’s fantasy. The 25-year-old actress has the opportunity to play dress up with elegant ballgowns and glass slippers, as she transforms into the glamorous Cinderella.

James, whose birth name is Lily Thomson, isn’t a Hollywood staple just yet, but she has been featured in a few projects worth noting. She starred as Lady Rose MacClare in the popular series, Downtown Abbey, and also had a part in the 2012 blockbuster, Wrath of the Titans.

There have been numerous other roles James has partook in, but none as prevalent as her portrayal of Cinderella.

However, being a princess doesn’t come without its downside.

There has been quite a bit of controversy over the alleged CGI-enhanced waist, as many feel the filmmakers altered James to make her appear smaller on screen.

James, whose naturally slender body has become the topic of much debate, spoke out to Huff Post Live to defended herself, but also pointed out that society doesn’t do women many favors.

“On one hand it’s upsetting, on the other hand it’s just boring. Why do women always get pointed at for their bodies? And why is this whole thing happening and I’m constantly having to justify myself? International Women’s Day has just gone, and it just feels just a bit sad that it’s still happening.”

It’s nice to know that James isn’t fighting this battle alone, as her Cinderella family has come to the actresses aide. Co-star Richard Madden, who plays Prince Charming, spoke to Huff Post Live and reiterated that James is indeed the woman she says she is.

“I can vouch for Lily on this. That’s her real waist. I held it, I know how tiny it was. And she did eat, she ate like a boy.”

Some women are just made for particular roles. Lily James was born to be a Princess. She has a naturally slim physique, and the million dollar smile that make her a true beauty.

There is no CGI or camera tricks, just a beautiful woman.
