Paris Fashion Week.

For many in the fashion world, it is THE fashion show to go to, be featured in and be seen at. Considered part of the “Big 4” alongside New York Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and London Fashion Week, the week-long fashion event is perhaps the most storied gathering in all of Europe.

A magnet of who’s who in the fashion world, designers, models and celebrities alike flock to The City of Light in hopes of being the new “It” factor afterwards.

Houses and brands are made and broken at PFW, as it is one of the most influential in terms of media attention, style, significance and getting noticed in one of the fashion capitals of the world.

First started in 1973, per a Fashion United article in 2016, Paris Fashion Week brings in an estimated $76.3 million during its week long event along with an estimated 30,000 visitors to the French capital.

According to WWD, the economic impact in the greater Paris area is an estimated $430 million generated by its 91 shows and 46 presentations to go along with 1,500 media credentialed designers from 25 different countries and journalists from another 50.

Breakout stars such as Selena Forrest, Fran Summers and Natalie Ogg are some of the newest modeling faces to have been discovered recently at the gala event. Could Houston-born hottie in runway model, Jenna Bracewell be the next one?

Despite being just 19, the dark-haired Texas stunner has an impressive resume thanks to modeling for brands such as Danny Nguyen Couture, Famous X Love, Bhakti Light, GAP – Athleta, Damsel White Label , Lord Andrew Couture, Lombana Clothing, Tereza Suessman, Sky Trues, The Prime Emporium, Meru Merus and El-Bee London.

In addition to walking in Paris, the 5’7, long-legged beauty has also walked at New York Fashion Week and Los Angeles Fashion Week.

A curvy and toned physique, Bracewell is able to slip between high end fashion and swimsuit modeling genres with ease thanks to an athletic figure that is both easy on the eyes and able to flatter a designers newest threads.

Like many from Space City, Jenna loves and breathes the World Series champion Houston Astros, Rockets and Texans with pride. Like her hometown, she is full of energy and bright while at the same time unapologetic about who she is as a Texan. Because of this, Jenna is the hottest American in Paris since George Gershwin.

What’s Paris Fashion Week been like for you? Paris Fashion Week has been very hectic yet fun, everyday I get to do something different.

How excited are you to be over in Paris? I am very excited! It is my first time in Paris so I am experiencing a lot of new things.

What big name designers have you meet and connected with? While I was here I worked with some amazing designers like Danny Nguyen Couture and Tsol Apparel.

Most exciting part of it so far? The most exciting part for me is walking in Paris Fashion Week of course but second to that is sight seeing. I love the old buildings and all the cute little places to eat. Paris is definitely beautiful city!

As someone who is just 19, and having walked some of the biggest catwalks, what’s been the most rewarding experience. The most rewarding experience is honestly just being able to be in the shows, get publicity and know my hard work is paying off.

Is true fashion modeling dead due to IG? Yes or no. I believe that it is not dead, there is a difference between high fashion modeling and being an IG model. Social Media has definitely impacted the community to make the industry more accessible and bring more diversity to it than it ever has before.

Who is the one big-name fashion design house and designer you’d love to collaborate with if you had the chance to do so? I would love to work with Alexander McQueen, the designs are powerful and bad ass! Also, Dolce and Gabbana I have always admired the rich colors and patterns they use in their garments. To be Honest the list goes on and on. So many amazing and incredible designers. One of my favorite local designers that is making a name for himself on an international level is Danny Nguyen with Danny Nguyen Couture. I had the honor of being is Muse for his Spring/Summer 2017 collection. He has extraordinary craftsmanship and style in every piece. He is a true artist.

Any new projects coming up? I have a lot of amazing shoots lined up for publications, so you’ll just have to stay tuned to see them come out! 😉

The best thing about being a fashion model. Personally I think the best thing about being a fashion model is traveling and wearing the clothes of course!

Which one do you enjoy modeling for the most? I enjoy them all! What I look forward to is working with a Designer or Brand, that shares a mutual respect and loyalty for each other’s work. Nothing is better than a Designer or Brand, wanting you to model for them. Recognizing your talent and working together on achieving each other goals to be successful in the industry.

Where has been your favorite place to shoot? I always love shooting on location, so some of my favorite places have been Balch Park in CA, and The White Sands in NM.

Being from Houston, you’ve been touched by tragedy in the form of Hurricane Harvey and the recent Santa Fe shootings, how have these touched you? Well its absolutely heartbreaking to watch everyone go through such devastation, it really makes you realize how important it is to bring attention to these subjects and help as much as you can in anyway possible.

With fall right around the corner, what fashion and style tips and trends do you have for looking good when the temperature drops? I love when it starts to get cold outside because I can finally bring out my jackets and boots, I think every girl needs those staple pieces for fall and winter.

Within the industry, who is your inspiration? My inspiration in the industry are models like Tyra Banks, Models who are able to be successful and change themselves to fit the trends of the times yet still stay true to themselves.

What is your secret to staying in shape? Well I was a competitive swimmer for about 9 years, I still like to swim to stay in shape.

Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies? When I am not modeling, I am working on my fashion design. I am in my 4th year of fashion design. Also working on my associates in Business Finance. I love to read, listen to music and watching movies! I like keeping up on makeup and fashion trends!

Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs? I am a hometown girl! So I root for Houston Texans and Houston Astros.

Photo: Robert Termaine

Rockets, Texans or Stros? If you had one team you couldn’t live with, who would it be? I can’t pick just one! I love and support all of my home town teams.

James Harden, JJ Watt or Justin Verlander? If you had a chance to hang with one sports star from H-Town, who would it be? I would choose JJ Watt, simply because he seems very down to earth and does lots for the community.

What are your favorite cities to travel to? I really like Los Angeles and New York.

What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling? Learn about the modeling industry. Like for example, you do need to pay for your comp. cards, portfolio work, business cards, classes for runway, photo posing and an acting class! Learn how to brand yourself, example, if you want to be a fashion model, then don’t have a portfolio of all swim suit and glamour shots. Also if you’re looking to be famous, then this is not for you! Recognize that to be a good model with a strong career and to make a living doing it, takes years of work and building your brand. Most of all stay Humble!
