The Oakland Raiders signed top draft pick Khalil Mack to an $18.7 million, four-year contract yesterday. The deal signed also includes a club option for a fifth year. Mack was selected fifth overall in last week’s NFL draft and is expected to be an instant impact pass rusher at linebacker on Oakland’s rebuilt defense.

In 48 college games at Buffalo, Mack recorded 28 ½ sacks, a major college-record 16 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, four interceptions and 21 passes defensed.

The deal contains an $11.9 million signing bonus. The contract includes guaranteed base salaries of $420,000, $510,000, $600,000 and $690,000.

It also has roster bonuses fully guaranteed for skill, injury and salary cap in 2015 ($758,955), $1.517 million (2016) and $2.276 million (2017). Mack will take part in his first practices in the NFL this weekend at the Raiders’ three-day rookie minicamp.

Friday, it was also reported that  Mack plans on applying with the NFL to wear the “shredder” face mask the same Justin Tuck wears. Khalil Mack said he’ll apply for Justin Tuck “Shredder” face mask. Said it prevents face mask from getting pulled. At this time Tuck is the only player in the NFL that is allowed to ware the “Shredder” face mask.
