It’s okay if you haven’t heard of Amy Schumer. Although, it’s going to be hard to get her out of your head after the recent trailer for Judd Apatow’s new film, Trainwreck, debuted.

After all, Apatow has successfully launched the career’s of Melissa McCarthy, Rose Bryne and Lena Dunham. However, Schumer might be his greatest find yet. Schumer hasn’t been on the Hollywood movie radar for long. In fact, she has yet to have a starring role in any major motion picture.

This all changes with Trainwreck, where she goes from unknown actress to American starlet.

Schumer, who got her start as a stand-up comic, was featured on the fifth season of NBC’s hit series, Last Comic Standing. Despite not winning, Schumer found work on the Comedy Central series Inside Amy Schumer, a sketch comedy show, written by Schumer, has been featured on the network for two seasons.

While the road to Trainwreck is long overdue, Schumer has already established herself as one of comedy’s funniest women, and her transition to the big screen should be flawless. However, that doesn’t mean Schumer won’t have her naysayers. Schumer was recently the subject of a hateful post from noted blogger, Jeffery Wells.

The post, which is titled, “Apatow’s Funny-Chubby Community Has A New Member”, trashed Schumer for not fitting the ideal actress size. Indeed, Schumer is a bigger woman, but not undesirable. She is only a size six, and her weight is hardly noticeable. However, that didn’t stop Wells as he lashed out against her.

“She’s obviously sharp and clever and funny as far as the woe-is-me, self depreciating thing goes, but there is no way she’d be the object of a heated romantic interest in the real world.”

After the recent success of Meghan Trainor’s hit song, “All About That Bass”, and plus-sized models, Robyn Lawley and Ashley Graham being featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, bigger women have been given their rightful share of the spotlight. The only thing Wells did by posting this message is add fire to the stereotype that most men don’t like bigger women, which is the farthest from the truth. After hearing of Wells comments, Schumer responded with the following.

“It was such an example of sort of the reason for trolling. It seems like a rewarding experience for people who do that stuff. From the bottom of my heart,  I could not care less.”

Schumer is going to make it far as a Hollywood actress. She has the comedic skills, and, despite what Wells believes, the look. It’s ironic Schumer’s first feature film is titled Trainwreck, because she is anything but.
