INDEPENDENCE – LeBron James was all business during the Cavaliers’ media day Friday at Cleveland Clinic Courts and all eyes were on Cleveland.

This was James’ first official Cavs press conference in more than four years, and in front of a 300-plus media contingent, James was very poised and very honest to the point when it came to his drive and basketball.

“I ask more of myself than anybody could ever ask of me, “ James said.

James also stated that his expectations are still high but feels more patient now than he did four years ago. James stated that he knows what it takes to win a championship and it is the hardest thing to do in your basketball career. James is looking forward in helping the team reach that goal.

James feels he can lead by example and has helped Coach David Blatt put the pieces together.

Not too long ago, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, wanted to rebuild the team by starting with new and younger players but that all changed when Kyrie Irving extended his contract on July 10 and LeBron James said he was coming home.

Clearly thanks a Cinderella-like off-season, the once-lost Cleveland Cavaliers franchise is building a championship team that now that the pieces to the puzzles are almost complete.

James’ new teammates include All-Stars Kevin Love and Irving, neither of whom has ever appeared in a playoff game. Dion Waiters, Tristan Thompson and Matthew Dellavedova have never played in a playoff game either.

This is about to change because veteran players Mike Miller, Shawn Marion and James Jones will help lead the way.

This is going to be a challenge for the team but as long as the team plays together and help each other out, the NBA Finals could happen.

If things magically bounce the Cavaliers’ way, the summer of 2015 could very well be a special one on the shores of Lake Erie, in seeing the city possibly celebrate it’s first championship since 1964.

The Cavaliers haven’t made the NBA playoffs since James left four years ago, and in the NBA Finals in 2007, as Cleveland was swept by the San Antonio Spurs.

With the new “Big Three,” of James, Irving and Love, the Cavs can’t go wrong and will be a force to be reckoned with.
