AMAZON PRIME VIDEO: Despite being a cheaper alternative to Netflix, this streaming service offers a wide variety of movies and TV shows and original content like Electric Dream and Carnival Row. A subscription to Amazon Prime costs $6.99 per month or $59 per month if paid upfront.
KAYO: Offering live and on-demand options and more than 50 sports, this Australian service is great for streaming sports when and how you want. With plans that start at $25 per month, you can view everything from cricket to AFL, and other sports such as basketball, motorsports, and more.
HAYU: With subscriptions beginning at $6.99 per month, this platform has over 6000 episodes across 200 reality TV shows. No matter if you love Keeping Up With the Kardashians or The Real Housewives, Hayu has new episodes of your favorite reality shows as soon as they air in the US.
GOOGLE PLAY and YOUTUBE: Both on-demand movies and TV shows are available for rental or purchase in Australia through YouTube and the Google Play store. Rentals can be purchased in either standard definition (SD) for $5.99, or high definition (HD) for $6.99, and TV episodes can be purchased for about $2.99.
TUBI: Get ready to enjoy a catalog of more than 7000 titles when you subscribe to the internet’s newest streaming platform, Tubi. Although the content it offers is mostly B movies and TV shows, it is completely free. Be prepared to watch about four minutes of ads per hour of streaming though, as this American platform is ad-supported.
SBS ON DEMAND and ABC IVIEW: Enjoy over 7000 hours of on-demand content by subscribing to Australia’s publicly funded free-to-air TV channels. At no cost to you, you can binge on exclusive content like The Handmaid’s Tale, as well as movies, documentaries, sports, and more.
