Jurgen Klinsmann inked a new four-year deal that will keep him with the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) until 2018, while also making him head technical director.

USMNT has seen great improvement under Klinsmann. In the two years he has been in charge, the Americans a record of 27-10-7 and have had record-setting wins each year.

This last year, he led the Yanks to a CONCACAF Gold Cup title and qualified first in CONCACAF for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Klinsmann has led them to some high-profile friendly wins against the likes of Germany and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The USMNT has become much more comfortable in possession and going on the attack since Klinsmann’s arrival. The U.S. is now more likely to take the games to their opponents and not sitting back and defending like they once did.

Becoming technical director means Klinsmann is overseeing the development of young players. This shows that the US has great confidence in Klinsmann and wants him to be in charge for a long time.

With Klinsmann at the helm the USMNT will continue to improve and stay the dominate force of CONCACAF and deep runs in the World Cup.
