On October 20th, the San Francisco 49ers sent shockwaves throughout the National Football League with the acquisition of running back Christian McCaffrey from the Carolina Panthers.

Funny enough the 49ers did not receive a high grade for the trade. A C- was given, while the Panthers actually received a high mark with an A- grade. The Panthers received a second, third, and fourth-round pick in 2023 and fourth round pick in 2024.

McCaffrey became the 49ers no.1 weapon on offense. In the 11 games with San Francisco which included 10 starts he carried the ball 159 times for 746 yards and six touchdowns, averaged 4.7 yards per carry and he also caught 52 passes for 464 yards and four touchdowns.

He also completed one pass for 34 yards that went for a touchdown. With Carolina, McCaffrey ran the ball 85 times for 393 yards and two touchdowns, averaged 4.6 yards per carry, and caught 33 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown.

Overall he finished with 1,139 yards rushing on 244 carries, with eight touchdowns, averaged 4.7 yards per carry, caught 85 passes for 741 yards and five touchdowns, and threw the one touchdown pass.

His total yardage for the season was 1,880 yards and 14 total touchdowns.

Can’t argue that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes does not deserve discussion after another great season. Which he threw for 5,250 yards, 41 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback is a questionable choice when it comes to quarterbacks. He did have a good season, yet it was not spectacular, what helped him was the additional 13 rushing touchdowns and his low interception total which was six. He was sacked 38 times and only threw for 22 touchdowns in 15 games and 3,701 yards.

Still it is the non quarterbacks that McCaffrey should have got nominated. Tyreek Hill started out the season strong for the Miami Dolphins, even made some comments that seemed to sleight his former quarterback, Mahomes.

Yet Hill who started the strong, fizzled down the stretch. He wound up catching 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns. He also ran the ball seven times for 32 yards. His total yardage for the season 1,742 and eight touchdowns.

There was another receiver who got talked about even more, MVP talks were also mentioned. This was Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, Justin Jefferson. He caught 128 passes for 1,809 yards and eight touchdowns. He also carried the ball four times for 24 yards and a touchdown.

Total yardage for Jefferson 1,833 yards and nine touchdowns. He also completed two passes for 34 yards.

There is no question that McCaffrey got snubbed, he had more total yardage than Hill and Jefferson, while also going over double digits in touchdowns as well.
