Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins are heading into their Week 3 matchup with the Oakland Raiders looking to prove that they are still a team to consider a playoff threat. After knocking off the Los Angeles Rams last week, the Redskins strongly believe that they are back on track after a rough start in Week 1.

Oakland is not a team to take lightly, especially with one of the NFL’s highest-powered offenses. That being said, the Redskins’ offense should have a big day. The Raiders’ defense has a lot of talent, but they also have some holes that are going to show against top-notch offenses.

Needless to say, this game could end up being an old-fashioned shootout.

All of that being said, the Redskins will need a few different players to step up against the Raiders. They are certainly a team to keep an eye on in the NFC, but need to show some things this week.

Which three players are the main keys for the Redskins to come out with a win over the Raiders on Sunday?

Chris Thompson, Running Back

There have been few players who have been bigger playmakers throughout the first two weeks of the season than Chris Thompson. He is one of the best offensive weapons for the Redskins, but some media members still don’t buy the hype surrounding him. Getting Thompson going early will be a major key for the Redskins.

Terrelle Pryor, Wide Receiver

Adding Terrelle Pryor onto this list should be an obvious move. He has yet to be the type of difference maker that the Redskins went out and signed him to be. Cousins needs help and it is time for Pryor to figure out how to give him just that.

Jordan Reed, Tight End

That’s right, all three players on this list will be offensive players. Jordan Reed has had a very quiet start to the season and the Redskins cannot afford to have that continue this week, although he is listed as questionable right now with a chest injury. Washington has to figure out a way to start putting the football in the end zone and Reed will need to have a big role in fixing that problem.

Expect to see Washington come out and play a good game on Sunday. Beating Oakland won’t be easy, but if these players can step up for the Redskins, they will have a shot to improve to 2-1 on the season.
