This is set to be an interesting match-up this week. The Washington Redskins will fly to Michigan where they will take on the 3-3 Detroit Lions. The Redskins started the season 0-2, but have since won four straight, including last weeks home win against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Lions are riding a win streak of their own, as they have won two in a row, including a win at home against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Redskins offense has some solid numbers on the season. They rank fifth in both total yards and passing yards in the NFL, with Kirk Cousins being the leading passer in four of six games they have played in. Their star tight end Jordan Reed has not been practicing, and appears to be a big question with a concussion this week. The defense has improved a bit after two terrible games to start the season. But they are coming off a big divisional win, and now head on the road. Smells like a letdown game to me, especially if Reed is out again.

The Lions are known for playing close games this season. Every game they have played in has resulted in a one score game. Sometimes they come out on top by a slight margin, or they lose in a game that only required one more score from Matthew Stafford and their dynamic offense. As a whole, they are clearly not as good as the Redskins. But they have picked up two straight wins and have a bit of momentum going right now. Their last two games have not been stressful divisional games, meaning this week does not scream letdown game. Sure their games have been tight, but beating a team like the Rams is not going to take as much out of them like a win against the Packers or Vikings.

So here is where the decision comes in. Do you take the Redskins because they are the better team? Or do you take the Lions at home because the Redskins could be in for a letdown game? For me, I am gambling with the Lions in this one.
