January, February, and March Carnival weather is dry and cool.

The dry season is ideal for the Trinidad Carnival, which takes place annually on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Port of Spain, the capital, is especially busy during the festival.
If you want to see the city at its liveliest and most vibrant, with colourful costumes and blooming flora, visit in January, February (Carnival is on the 12th and 13th), and March (hotel prices may rise).

April and May have mild weather and little rain.

Canoeing through the Nariva swamp in the rain may appeal to adventurers. It is Trinidad’s largest freshwater wetland at over 60 square kilometres. Rare species like the Red-bellied Macaw helped it become famous.
If you’re going to get wet, Trinidad’s best surfing month is December. Trade winds create regular waves on the north and northeast coast. Las Cuevas, Grand Riviere, Blanchisseuse, and Sans Souci have 4-8-foot waves.

The driest month is September th, the rainy season. In the rainy weather, the ‘petit carêm’ is welcome.
Use the dry weather to explore Queen’s Park Savannah. The largest park in Port of Spain is 260 acres and 2.2 miles long. It hosts Trinidad Carnival, cricket, football, and bicycle races and is the world’s most giant roundabout.
