Before embarking on your summer adventures, it’s important to read up on the laws that may affect your trip. While many of us are aware of the legal and societal rules around consuming alcohol or even dress codes, one thing you may not have considered is vaping.

Over the past five or so years, roughly one-third of nations have introduced some sort of e-cigarette regulation. The severity and strictness of these laws vary on a country by country basis. A number of nations have a complete ban and impose heavy penalties on those found breaking the law.

One such country is Thailand, which has completely banned e-cigarettes and punishments for those found with them range from confiscation to ten years in prison. Other countries have rules that are less clear to the visitor’s eye, for example in Denmark e-liquids containing nicotine are classed as medicinal and cannot be sold, whereas nicotine-free e-liquids can be sold.

Therefore, before packing your suitcase it is absolutely essential for vapers to take the time to research the laws in their chosen destination. This research may save you from paying a fine or (depending on the country) worse yet, jail time!

When conducting your research, make sure that your sources are up-to-date with all the latest developments. E-cigarettes are still a relatively new phenomenon and the laws around them are constantly evolving of flux as governments react to emerging research.
