It is so nice to have college basketball back. With the MLB season over, and the NFL taking place mainly on one day of the week, sports fans need a change of pace from the NHL and NBA sometimes. That is where NCAA men’s basketball comes in, and it just so happens Tuesday night will have plenty of action. While Madison Square Garden will be at the center of attention for college hoops fans with the State Farm Champions Classic taking place (Kentucky vs Michigan State and Duke vs Kansas), there are plenty of other noteworthy games taking place as well. It is a slate filled with ranked teams playing, and there is another contest that features two ranked teams taking on one another as the Wisconsin Badgers take on the Creighton Bluejays.

The Wisconsin Badgers will enter the game as the ninth-ranked team in the country. The Badgers opened their season with a blowout victory over a low-level opponent, as they took down the Central Arkansas Bears in a home game. The team was led by two Seniors, as guard Bronson Koening and forward Nigel Hayes led the charge for the Badgers. Koening contributed 16 points and four boards while logging 24 minutes on the court. Hayes meanwhile scored 14 points, grabbed four boards and dished out five assists in the runaway victory.

Their opponents will be the 22 ranked Creighton Bluejays. The team is also coming off a home win at home, but it was not quite the blowout victory that Wisconsin enjoyed. Creighton took on the UMKC Kangaroos, and managed an 89-82 victory to open their season. Junior guard Marcus Foster led the scoring charge for Creighton, as he scored 19 points and made 44% of his three-point attempts. Senior guard, Maurice Watson Jr. was the biggest star of the evening however, as he logged 32 minutes, scored 17 points, had nine assists and also brought down three rebounds.

So while everyone has their attention on MSG and the State Farm Champions Classic, do not forget about the huge slate of college basketball games on the docket on Tuesday. There are plenty of interesting games to tune into, and this is certainly one of them. Just because a game does not feature two powerhouse teams does not mean it is not worth watching, as this game is certainly to be worth the watch, especially since both teams could be bound for the NCAA Tournament this season.
