WWE Theme Park
Universal Studios Planning a WWE Theme Park
INSCMagazine: Get Social!

Call it wishful thinking, but could WWE actually build a theme park? It’s not that far-fetched of an idea. We’ve recently seen concept photos from Forrec showing off their designs for a potential WWE theme park. Could this actually happen?

Let’s get one thing straight, there is nothing but pictures at this point. Everything regarding this theme park proposal hasn’t been mentioned by anyone within WWE. That doesn’t mean it won’t ever come to fruition, as WWE might be able to pull something like this off.

We’ve seen the recent Wrestlemania campaign of “The Ultimate Thrill Ride”. There was even a roller coaster on the set of the companies biggest night. This shows that WWE has tinkered with the idea of theme parks for some time.

While that might have solely centered on Wrestlemania, it’s interesting to think what inspired these designs and campaigns.

WWE does a lot of business in Orlando. Wouldn’t it make sense to try to put some kind of attraction at the theme park capital of the world?

Rumors were swirling that a Hall Of Fame would be coming to Universal’s City Walk. That ended up not being the case. However, there are still areas where they can build up some sort of theme park presence.

Universal used to be home to Nickelodeon Studios. The area where it sits is now vacant and is in dire need of an overhaul. What better way to do that than to incorporate WWW themed attractions into that area of the park? It wouldn’t be a full theme park, but at least it’s a way to expand the brand and bring some of that concept art to reality.

While this seems like a win-win situation for both, does it makes sense for WWE to move forward with something like this? We all remember the failed restaurant in Times Square, and some will argue the same fate will be placed upon any potential theme park.

From a business sense, it might just be smart to place a physical Hall of Fame and some very small flat ride attractions themed after different wrestlers. WWE doesn’t need to break the bank to pull this off. And you could still incorporate some of the concept art into the area of Universal.

It’s a bold idea, but why can’t WWE build a theme park? They’ve got the fanbase and money to invest in something as big as this. Let’s hope this dream becomes a reality.
