1. Tom Brady
Tom Brady is a quarterback who deserves his place on the top 10 list and wants to be remembered in NFL history by his devoted fans all the way down to his grandkids. During his 18-year-long career with the New England Patriots, he led his team to six world championships and 17 division titles. He is a nine-time Pro Bowler winner as well. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won the Super Bowl LV title, achieving 5 MVP Super Bowl honors. In his career, he has played a total of 264 games and holds records for passing touchdowns.
2. Joe Montana
Spreading his career across Kansas City Chiefs and the San Fran 49ers, “Joe Cool” is a quarterback legend. During his career, he won Super Bowl titles and awards for the most passes thrown without an interception, with 122 passes in 4 games. He has received five nominations for the All-Pro award and earned two for NFL MVP honors awards. After his retirement, he became part of the Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
3. Johnny Unitas
Johnny Unitas played for the Baltimore Colts and San Diego Chargers and can be considered one of the most iconic quarterbacks of his time. Even today, NFL players try to follow his example in their game playing. His career was made during his devoted time at the Baltimore Colts, and during this time, he won 3 NFL championships and a Super Bowl victory. During his 18-year-long career, he won 10 Super Bowls and 4 NFL MVP awards.
4. Peyton Manning
This list would not be complete without Peyton Manning. Since the 1998 NFL Draft, Manning has received a lot of attention from clubs and has inspired many players today. During his career, he played for the Broncos and the Colts, winning 5 NFL MVP titles, creating a record for this compared to any other NFL player. Throughout league history, he has one 14 Pro Bowls and 10 All-Pro awards.
5. Otto Graham
Nicknamed “Automatic Otto,” he is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the Super Bowl. Throughout his career, he won four AAFC championships when he played for the Cleveland Browns and won three NFL championships. He was known as one of the best passers of his time, holding a rate of 86.6. He leads the NFL in passing yards per attempt with a score of 9.0.
6. Dan Marino
Playing for the Miami Dolphins and retiring in 1999; Marino is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time but doesn’t have a championship ring to show for it. In NFL history, he is one of the leading-time touchdown passes with 420. Throughout his career, he made history in the NFL with a completion percentage six times over.
7. Drew Brees
Drew Brees divided his career between the San Diego Chargers after that, he joined the New Orlean Saints and began his bigger career. He was responsible for leading the New Orleans Saints to their only XLIV Super Bowl win back in 2009 and earned himself MVP honors that year. He is the NFL’s leader in passing yards, scoring 80,358 and 7,142 completions. Brees is also known for his speed, being one of the fastest-ever quarterbacks. He reached the 60,000 and 70,000 pass-yard marks sooner than anyone!
8. Roger Staubach
Roger Staubach, nicknamed “Roger the Dodger” was known for his ability to hustle and pull out wins late in the game. Being the comeback King, he has 23 game-winning fourth-quarter drives. He is also known as the father of the ‘Hail Mary’ pass when he connected with player Drew Pearson on the 50-yard touchdown spot with only 24 seconds left of play. He said ‘Hail Mary’ as he did so, and thus the pass was born.
9. John Elway
Elway was ahead of his time in his ability to run with pace holding the ball, making him one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He is one of the only quarterbacks in the history of the NFL to score a rushing touchdown across four Super Bowls. Throughout his 16-year-long career, he rushed for 3,407 yards, achieving 33 incredible touchdowns.
10. Brett Favre
Known as “The Gunslinger,” Brett Favre has a 3.3% interception rate and is one of the most powerful arms in the NFL. He was an Iron Man with his passes but was also known for his durability. He set an NFL record across 19 seasons with 297 consecutive stars. His most famous start was when he took the field a day after his father died on Monday Night Football.
