Every couple planning their wedding wants their day to be perfect, from the ceremony itself to the toasts after, but there’s one element that you can’t control and that’s the weather.
That’s why, by using weather statistics, the personalized gifting and wedding experts at GiftsOnline4U have looked at 2025 and have pinpointed the Best Wedding Dates 2025 if you’re looking for:
- Clear skies
- The most amount of sunshine
- The least chance of rain
Director at GiftsOnline4U, Asgar Dungarwalla, says: “We all dream of the perfect wedding and the weather certainly plays a huge part in this. With a lot of summer weddings taking place outdoors, it’s crucial the rain stays away. Thankfully these days, most venues offer indoor options or at least tents and awnings to protect everyone, but how do you know when to book your big day? Ideally couples want sunshine for those all-important photos of the big day, but also to have in their memories too.
We’ve done some digging to try and find that elusive ideal date!”
So when is it?
The all-important date? It’s Saturday June 21st, 2025, which is the Summer Solstice, but statistically, any date around then would be optimal. But why?
Here’s how we found it:
Rainfall on your wedding day?
Starting with rainfall, we all know the UK generally experiences a mild climate with more rainfall spread throughout the year. So we looked only at months that experienced less in terms of grey skies and washouts.
These statistically are:
April to June: These spring and early summer months typically experience less rainfall compared to other parts of the year.
September: Early autumn can also see relatively less rain.
Sunshine for your big day
We then looked at sunshine and when this was most prevalent for those lovely, balmy wedding party nights:
May to July: These months tend to have the most sunshine, with longer daylight hours and relatively clearer skies.
Considering both criteria, May, June, and September are often the best months for a wedding in the UK.
Therefore, we know that May, June and September look most favourable for amount of rain and hours of sunlight.
These months provide a balance of favourable weather conditions, which is ideal for an outdoor or semi-outdoor wedding setting.
Delving down further, we found that June was the best month for weddings, simply because:
Least Amount of Rain: June is generally one of the driest months of the year in the UK. The probability of rain is lower compared to other months, which reduces the risk of weather-related disruptions on your wedding day.
Most Amount of Sunshine: June benefits from the longest daylight hours, providing ample sunshine. This is ideal for outdoor weddings and photography.
Pleasant Temperatures: June typically offers mild to warm temperatures, making it comfortable
for guests and suitable for outdoor events.
But when in June?
Typically, the middle of June tends to have stable and favourable weather conditions. Based on historical weather patterns, the third week of June often shows good weather.
Historically, the summer solstice around June 21st tends to have long daylight hours and relatively stable weather. This period often sees less rain and more sunshine. We therefore think narrowing down to this date is accurate as the perfect day.
