In 2016, the WWE saw a crop of new talent like AJ Styles, Rodrick Strong, and Bobby Roode to name a few. It seems that 2017 could continue the trend with several top Ring of Honor wrestlers coming over. This has also been made by the fact that Nigel McGuinness and Steve Corino both came to WWE and there were several reports of WWE wanting to do a “talent-raid” of Ring of Honor as several of the top talents are having their contracts expire.

Coming off the heels of Wrestle Kingdom 11, there are rumors that former Ring of Honor champion Kyle O’Reilly may be WWE bound. He lost the Ring Of Honor title to Adam Cole and he did this without a contract. According to several wrestling sites, he turned down a new contract from Ring of Honor and said that he was weighing his options with other companies. Once that was said, the rumor mills started to run with rumors that he may be bound for Raw or Smackdown.
If he were to be WWE bound, I could see him heading to NXT and not the main roster right off the back. What would be interesting to note though is that apparently the plan all along was for him to lose the belt to Adam Cole after winning it a month ago. Ring of Honor is where several WWE superstars began their careers like with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, and Seth Rollins being a few. There have been other rumors that Adam Cole could also end up being WWE bound in 2017.
While it seems that WWE is looking at signing several Ring of Honor superstars, there are others that it seems are staying in Ring of Honor. The two most notable ones were Jay Lethal and the Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson), who both just re-signed deals that will keep them in Ring of Honor until 2019.
This is just a rumor, and should be taken with grain of salt.
