CHICAGO, IL – One thing is for sure, Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever, look like rivalry teams and it shows on the floor. It is obvious that the popularity of rookies Caitlin Clark, Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese had a sold-out crowd at Wintrust Arena.

The excitement was electrifying between the Caitlin Clark and Fever fans, begging for autographs etc, didn’t drown out the crowd for the Sky. The crowd was loud in equal excitement for Clark’s 3-pointers and Reese’s one-on-one plays. The three rookies enjoyed every bit of the hype, Clark destroyed the Fever’s single-game record with 13 assists, the Sky’s defense was fueled in a 26-5 run in the third quarter.

Reese and Cardoso out rebounded the entire Fever roster with a combined 26 boards. Reese had her eighth consecutive double-double and scoring 25 points in the fourth quarter.

     “I’m a dog,” Reese said after the win. “You can’t teach that.”
     The Fever and the Sky have both made the statements:  “The future of the WNBA is here in the Midwest.”
About this two teams being rivalries, in Clark’s statement to the media, she said “I’m pretty sure the only people that have viewed this as a rivalry, is all of you, and for us it is just a game of basketball.”
Sky’s coach Teresa Weatherspoon told the media, “We haven’t done anything to consider anything a rivalry, we don’t see it as a rivalry. We see it as a game that we got to go out and win.” Weatherspoon also told the media that the approach for every single game, is too get better and win.
Tickets to get-in-the door price for Sunday‘s game sold from $300 to more than $5000. The place was packed. Some of the celebrities in the court side seats were:  Lil Durk, Chance the Rapper, Jason Sudeikis, Jalen Brunson and Sheryl Swoop. Sunday‘s ESPN broadcast may have drawn over 3 million viewers, a record for the WNBA.
     “Everybody’s watch right now, ” Reese said, “I think this is one of the most important time right now and we just continued to keep playing. I think both teams did an amazing job putting on a show tonight.”
