We went to Barcelona to talk to one of the artists of the moment. Surely you already know who he is if we say that his hat and his smoking have become a figure of the Spoken Word. We have to say that this interview has been complicated by the state in which Msb Mario has arrived but the curiosity of “The Inscriber Magazine” delves into the most obscure artists:

Buenas tardes, Mario or Nino de la Pili as you prefer to be called and where does “MSB” come from?

Jesus Christ. I want to be called Jesus Christ because I’m full of sisters who faithfully believe in MSB. For that very reason, I’m not going to tell you what Msb is, because you should be on your knees for it, just like my sisters. Now take note: always looking inside the church to the North, and with a little orientation to the East. Amen.

– It had been a long time since you had given interviews and you had cancelled all of them, I’m glad you agreed to be here. Can I ask you why this silence regarding the press?

I’d rather f*ck than talk. I only speak on the pitch, then I let your bosses tell them what they have to talk about when the game is over.

– You have become number one in the worldwide Spoken Word, a historical fact for an independent Spanish writer. How was the journey?

The journey, charri? Well, look, Paralel up and then little green lights in the shape of a cross. You enter. You say hello and ask for Jesus Christ. I’m the best writer in the world since I came out of the p*ssy of la Pili, it’s just that now it is indisputable. The stupid society moves by magic uni-ver-sales numbers when you finish Paralel Avenue. I’m in another level even for your questions, charri.

– Why your last poem is called “Spoken Meiker Word” is it a game with words or just an artistic decision?

Because I was just doing a classical composition on a Mexican score and since I had my back turned I thought that turning “Requiem” upside down was the right thing to do for that high level score. I was feeling Beethoven but the violinists were in pomp. I incorporated a “K” because I like to annoy your bosses.

– Your lyrics, with your respect, have provoked controversy since the publication of your novel but people have liked your songs, has that affected you in any personal or artistic aspect?

Yes, of course, before I had to speak. Now I just have 5 in my bed with just putting my hat on.

You have received very good reviews for your latest work, can you explain the process and how you developed the idea of mixing so many genres in the same video?

I’m exotic. I had a Brazilian, a Sevillian, an alternative chick and a rock lover that maybe her “drummer” was the most well-formed and comfortable thing in recent times. So I mixed a little bit of everything, and since I have a deep cough, they started playing guitars for me, I just had to put the lyrics, I was writing it on the back of la sevillana. Then my bedstead did the rest. Love it. When you walk into church, you pray to me, and then I get into wet compás. Amen.

– Where did you get your references from musically speaking and also in literature?

I have a lot of references of which none of them can wear a hat and fit like me. As a writer, my reference is Msb Mario, a real asshole who mixes more than 5 languages in his poetry and puts them in rhythm while the “references” drink tea in menopause. I don’t want to leave the subject too open, the only magic wand that exists is between my legs. In music, my referent is El Niño de la Pili, who is also a real asshole but moves with 4g as your “referent” after rehearsing choreographies for 5 months. Yet they still have a hard time, if you notice, if they don’t do my gestures and my movements they become corporate dough which only makes me fuck that much more. No chupa chups, charri, with your 1’45 tall friend. I like p*ssy’s. I sweat my d*ck about referrals because I don’t play basketball but right now they have it dilated like a proper NBA hoop. Change the fucking name of the NBA to MSB, I’ll take a 5 point shot. This answer is brutal. Sell it next month when I’m gone. They’ll buy it from, wait, it’s too much to-ron-nto.

– We see a clear change from the songs you were releasing to the last ones in your latest video where you can clearly see a rock or alternative sound that has impressed and that few expected. Why have you made this change of sound?

Because you’re tonta; I’ve never made songs. I make poetry on a celestial level. Then it becomes Spoken Pili.

– Excuse me, Mario, I didn’t understand the concept Spoken Pili, although you’re right that it is Spoken Word; but doesn’t it seem very far from what you do?

It seems to me that you should already know that the Pili is the one who created Jesús. So when I put words in compah’ everything comes back to her. But, I repeat, the only thing that is far from intelligence here is you, charri; nobody can do what I do, basically because they don’t have a pharmacy as big as the one I have.

– As for the visual aspects we’ve seen that you always follow the concept of an old TV channel, but this time you have collaborated with different people.

I never collaborate with the same people; and I was going to change the concept but the visual aspect in terms of recording and type of old camera came from Dulce, who is the one who has been in charge of photography, recording and making me groan, she is absolutely a TV channel herself. Spectacular horizontal collaboration, charri. No matter who records, who takes the pictures, I’m Jesus.

– Going back to the musical theme, we see several producers intervening in the work (something strange because we were used to see you always with the same producer) and also during these days different podcasts here have broadcasted different versions of your first track “Spoken Meiker Word”. Can you explain us the reason for this change?

The answer before taking a sip of syrup, because coughing is bad but the remedy you know what they say… is worse… Simple: I was looking for a sound of guitars, bass, drums and pianos that were in tune with that UK underground dirty rock of the 80’s, so I went to DesertDen Records Studio because I know his art and his ways, I knew it had to be him. I just had to tell him to make everything dirtier than he usually does. The drug is like that. Little Kashio is drill, he has that 808 that makes everything bigger, I just had to force him to understand that we had to make it drill but in a pop and sad sense. And for the ending I needed something cinematographic but in details and in that the best is Duerte y Mestrucción, so everything fit together. Now I take a drink and tell you that I always recorded with the same producer, I love him, he knows that, but he’s univer-sal bought and he knows that too.

– With your permission, I’m obliged to ask you about the viral photos that appeared last week in some blogs in which you were seen in a very famous nightclub in Barcelona in “compromising” situations.

The only compromising situation I’ve had these days is listening to your narrow voice for 10 minutes. Time’s up, charri.

– What is the next step for you? Do you have something else prepared for your fans?

Si tú sigues creando situaciones. Yo siempre voy a seguir estando. Time’s up, charri, I said.

From INSC Magazine we want to say that we’ve tried to continue with the interview but it has been practically impossible because Mario has left. Even so from here we hope we’ve not bothered with any of our questions; and although the meeting has been short we wish the best to this artist whose art we admire. We also attach his latest video “Spoken Meiker Word”.
