On a recent episode of The Bud Rebel Show, hosted by Bud Rebel, listeners were given a rare insight into Yellowstone actor and stunt performer Jeremy Richardson. Richardson opened up about and shared stories from filming the iconic series, his sobriety, and his own personal experiences and journey.

Richardson hails from a small farming town in Minnesota and now calls Montana home where he works and lives on an 8000-acre ranch. The real-life cowboy first joined the hit Paramount tv series in 2022 and returns for the newest and highly anticipated season 5.

On His Yellowstone Experience

When asked what the biggest difference between Yellowstone and real life (working ranch life) is, Richardson responded “I would say here on the ranch we don’t do a number of takes or you know, there’s no pause button. It’s all go, all the time and it’s real.” Further adding “I mean, you can put yourself in danger quite a bit out here on the ranch and the other thing is, there’s no killings. We don’t take people to the train station.”  Richardson references a pun on the show’s more scandalous and deceptive storyline, where taking someone to the ‘train station’ ultimately results in their death on the scripted drama.

On his experience working on the show, he told Bud Rebel “…Everyone on set, the whole crew, producers, directors, the other co-stars and actors, they all made it feel like family. Great atmosphere. They made me feel like I was part of the Yellowstone day one.”

Facing Sobriety

Reflecting on his past relationship with alcohol he shares how drinking became too regular and it got out of hand, often times he would black out and get mean. Becoming a sober cowboy in April 2019, it was upon his own efforts and realization, that he decided to get the help he needed and stay the course of rehab and get sober. He’s now five years sober and proud.
