Player Comparison:
Corey Coleman – Wide Receiver, Baylor (2015 NFL Draft: Round 1 Pick 15- Cleveland Browns)
For me, this is a very good comparison to one of my favorite wide receivers last year coming out of Baylor, Corey Coleman. Both have similar measurements physically and were productive receivers in college. Both can make an impact on special teams as returners and be versatile enough in the slot or the outside receiver position. While Coleman is bigger, Ross is faster and is a better route runner. I see John Ross selected in a similar range to Corey Coleman last year.
Conclusion
With his performance at the scouting combine, John Ross could be the first receiver off the board. Or be the 3rd receiver off the board. It just depends on how each team is comfortable with his medicals. We have seen smaller receivers dominate the league and a guy like Ross could follow that trend. If he is relatively healthy in his NFL career, he could be a high volume type of player with the speed to burn anyone in the NFL.
