The first day of NBA Free Agency just gets stranger by the minute. ESPN just reported that Dwight Howard has signed a 3yr/$70M deal with the Atlanta Hawks.
Howard is coming home.
The Hawks who were thought to be in a rebuild mode or so have landed one of the biggest names in the market but is he enough to salvage some of the damage that was done early in the offseason with the trade of Teague? This is a great move for the Hawks as they get a little bigger in the frontcourt with Howard who still has the defensive capabilities to change the outcome of a game and versatile PF Paul Millsap.
What this also signifies is the end of the Al Horford era in Atlanta. The new look Hawks will pose on of the most powerful lines in the NBA and come playoff time will be a force to be reckoned with if Howard can keep his emotions in check.
