Izzadeen Malik El-Amin is gearing up for his much-anticipated return to the boxing ring in Colombia, a place he last visited over two years ago. With a renewed sense of hunger and determination, Izzadeen is eager to prove himself once again. “I’m not done; this is the next step in my boxing career,” he says, emphasizing how the sport has kept him on a straight path.
He firmly believes in the principle that you can’t cheat boxing; the effort you put in will inevitably show. Reflecting on his time away, he acknowledges the lessons learned through trials and tribulations. “Once I get back in the ring, watch how many phones will be ringing. That’s when you’re remembered,” he states, crediting his small, supportive team for keeping him focused and reminding him of his purpose.
Set to return at the end of the summer, Izzadeen declares, “Remember the name, The Great Izzadeen Malik El-Amin is back. I want all of them! My hands will do the talking.” He also expresses his solidarity with Palestinians, praying for their land and asserting his fearlessness with God’s guidance. “Till now, God’s been guiding me. I’ve been protected with Allah’s permission. I serve and work for Him; nothing else mattered to me. We all make mistakes, but we are led the right way, God’s chosen people; we can’t get it wrong.”
