Talk about a game that features two teams that I just do not like this season. As we enter NFL week 3, the team I thought would be the worst in the NFL takes on the team I thought was the most over-rated. I am talking about the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, as Seattle plays host to Chip Kelly and his club this week. Last week so the 49ers got destroyed in Carolina by a score of 46-27. Meanwhile, the Seahawks went to Los Angeles and lost 9-3.

The 49ers opened the season with a bang. At home, they demolished the Rams on Monday Night Football by shutting out the club 28-0. And then they got spanked in week two on the road against the Panthers. So which is the real 49ers club? My guess is the second option, given the team has no quarterback, no real wide receivers, and a weak defense. Now they enter Seattle, which is one of the hardest places for a visiting team to play.

As far as the Seahawks, they struggled in their home opener to begin the season. The club only beat the Dolphins because of a late score from Doug Baldwin. Then last week they went on the road and looked even worse, as the offense could do nothing right, in a loss against the team San Francisco destroyed just a week earlier.

So this one sets up to be a low-scoring, defensive type of game. The Seahawks should certainly win the game. But I have a problem laying 9.5 points with a team that has looked so terrible on offense. So even though the 49ers are going to Seattle, I am reluctantly going with them here. This is merely a pick against the Seahawks being able to cover that many points, as they have done nothing to show me they are capable of doing just that. Hey, it worked in week one when I picked the Dolphins as big underdogs in Seattle, so why not try again?

Line: Sea -9.5, O/U: 40.5

Pick: 49ers and the under

Result: Sea 37 – SF 18, Seahawks and the over
