Odds have become available for all races at Royal Ascot, prompting a lot of the more experienced punters into choosing their own picks for the festival in advance. These prices could be yet to change and will obviously alter based on any injuries that might occur along the way, but it’s enough to get fans of horse racing excited for the action getting underway in June.
Deciding which way to go with your own Royal Ascot tips can be difficult, as it is with choosing any horse racing bets, but sites like The Winners Enclosure are on hand with their own Royal Ascot tips as well as previews, recommended bets, every available market, and the best odds from all the most favourable bookmakers.
Cracksman given odds of 3/1 to win
Originally starting with a 4/1 price, Cracksman’s odds moved up to 3/1, making him favourite ahead of second place Enable, who is given marginally bigger odds of 5/1. Cracksman had to be ranked as one of the stronger horses in contention after a successful 2017, winning the Investec Derby Trial, the Great Voltigeur Stakes, the Prix Neil, the Champion Stakes and achieving individual accolades in the form of the Cartier Champion Three Year Colt award and being crowned as the World’s top-rated 3-year-old.
Winning the award as world’s best three-year-old horse was a massive achievement for Cracksman but it comes with experience from the whole team, as veteran jockey Frankie Dettori has been partly responsible in riding the nag to victory. Current form sees Cracksman with five wins from seven runs on flat turf, three wins from five runs in stakes races and five wins from seven runs in rules races, so there’s reasoning behind it being seen as a clear favourite here.
Despite being seen as a favourite for last year’s Epsom Derby at odds of 7/2, Cracksman could only get as far as third, leaving 5/1 priced Cliffs of Moher to reach second, and an even bigger shock as Wings Of Eagles took first, who was priced at a whopping 40/1 price before they left the stables. Fans of horse racing were baffled by it all as Cracksman finished first in the trial prior to the real race, leaving a lot of fans expecting him to win by a distance.
How did last year’s race end?
The 2017 edition of the Prince of Wales stakes had Highland Reel finishing first at odds of 9/4, then followed by Decorated Knight, where a lot of punters backing it to place were appreciative, as it finished second with a 10/1 starting price. Third place was given to Ulysses, who was given a 9/2 price prior to the race starting.
