Star-Studded Event: Melbourne Prepares for the 2024 IFFA Awards with James Pratt, Cody Simpson, Samantha Coughlan, Louise Child.

This week, the Palms at Crown in Melbourne will transform into a prestigious celebration of cinema as the 2024 International Film Festival of Australia (IFFA) Awards takes place. The highly anticipated event promises to unite Hollywood luminaries, international filmmakers, and emerging talents for an evening to celebrate film.

The IFFA is dedicated to showcasing exceptional artistry from around the globe, honoring filmmakers from over 23 countries. Renowned for its commitment to promoting storytelling, the festival embraces both established professionals and the best innovative newcomers. This year’s ceremony will highlight a broad spectrum of cinematic stories, with nominations in categories including Animation, Under 18, Short Film, Feature Film, and Documentary.

Los Angeles-based Australian actor James Pratt will present the prestigious Feature Film Award during the ceremony. This year’s nominees include films, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes ( Wes Ball) Decoded ( Chen Sicheng) Netflix’s The Archies ( Zoya Akhtar) , Eric Bana’s The Dry 2 ( Peter Raeburn ), Monkey Man (Jordan Peele ) Drive, ( Park Dong-hee ) Just a Farmer ( Simon Lyndon ), Gadar 2 ( Anil Sharma ), Upgraded (Carlson Young, Camila Mendes ) , Treasure ( Julia von Heinz) , Unsung Hero ( Joel Smallbone) , Cabrini ( Alejandro Monteverde) , Lilith ( Dale Crawford ), White Panjab ( Gabbar Sangrur) , Gingersnap Christmas ( Julia Jay Pierrepont III) , Love Lives Bleeding ( Rose Glass, Kristen Stewart) , Mountain Boy ( Zainab Shaheen) ,and Nicolas Cage’s The Arcadian ( Benjamin Brewer) . “It’s an honor to be back in Australia to present at the IFFA Awards, the calibre of films and talent is just incredible. British-based actress Samantha Coughlan is one of many industry professionals attending whose films are nominated at this year’s event. Australian musician Cody Simpson is set to perform live adding to the excitement of the night.

The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 5, with the red carpet opening at 6:15 PM and the program commencing at 7:00 PM.
