The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, drop the series finale against the Hooks Sunday night, 4-2. Scott Heineman continued his offensive onslaught, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Corpus Christi. The RoughRiders now sit at 3-3 so far in the second half of the season, 34-42 on the year.

Heineman collected his fifth consecutive multi-hit game, going 2-3 with a walk and a run scored. Heineman has reached safely in 14 straight games, and in 25 of his past 40 plate appearances. He also has a seven-game hitting streak, hitting .538 (14-26) in that span.

Luke Tendler went 2-4 Sunday night, with one RBI. Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 2-4, and Jose Trevino hit 1-4 with one RBI.

Texas Rangers top prospect Yohander Mendez took the hill for the RoughRiders, taking a loss and dropping to 5-5 on the season. The lefty tossed 5.0 innings, giving up five hits and three runs (all earned). He walked four and struck out seven hitters. Clayton Cook pitched in relief, tossing two innings of two-hit ball. He allowed one run (earned) while walking none and getting three punch outs. Joe Filomeno finished the matchup, giving up one hit and striking out two in one inning.

The Frisco RoughRiders have a break for the Texas League All-Star festivities and will resume action Thursday night. The club will take on the Tulsa Drillers, the beginning of a six-game homestand.
