At 6:24 AM on July 6th Buster Olney of ESPN reported that Tyler Glasnow will be called up to make his major league debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates this weekend. Well Buster you were right news just broke about Glasnow getting the call up, he will start tomorrow (Thursday July 7th) against the rival St. Louis Cardinals. Glasnow is the not only the top pitching prospect for the Bucs but the top prospect in the system, and ranked number four on ESPN’s top 100 list. This news is huge for Pirates fans everywhere as we’ve seen the bucs rotation struggle mightily throughout the first half of the season. Currently at Triple-A Glasnow has a 1.78 ERA, in 17 starts, let’s hope he can continue to shut the door at the major league level and limit the walks which he’s been struggling with so far this season.
