Yacht Rentals

Although there are European countries that are not surrounded by the sea, thanks to the improved accessibility of tourist destinations, it is closer to us than ever before. After all, you can get to Croatia, Spain, Italy or Greece within a few hours. Everyone enjoys a summer holiday by the sea in a different way – some people like sunbathing on the beach and swimming in the sea, while others like to go sightseeing, and then there are people who like something special. For example, renting a yacht for an unforgettable sea ride.

It Has its Undeniable Charm

Imagine being able to go anywhere you want, with nothing stopping you. You’ve shed the burden of land and are out on the high seas, beyond the reach of the internet, work calls and only the people you choose to hang out with. It’s not just a romantic and idyllic idea, it can become a reality. It is simple, you just need to charter a sailing yacht and go, for example, on a week-long sea cruise. We guarantee you that it will be a vacation that you really won’t forget.

Which Vessel to Choose?

In the context of renting a yacht, which in English can also be found under the word ‘charter’, we are talking about a long-term charter of a vessel. A typical rental period is approximately one week or more. The yacht can be rented with or without a captain, and of course, even in this case, safety comes first. If you decide to rent a yacht without a captain, you need to hold a license to become one. There are many types of yachts from which you can pick the one that suits your plans best: motor yacht, sports cruiser, fishing or displacement yacht.

One of the most popular solutions is a catamaran charter. The word catamaran itself may not be that familiar to you, but if you have ever seen a yacht with two parallel hulls in the picture, you would have immediately recognize it. People who like catamarans usually prefer them over classic yachts  because of its stability and good sailing characteristics. Catamaran’s usual length varies from about 11 to 18 meters, approximately 10 people can fit on board, depending on the specific model.

An alternative that is more financially accessible is a motorboat charter. Of course, we do not mean a tiny motorboat, but a vessel on which even six people can fit. However, if you are planning to spend a long vacation at sea and not just only a one day trip, it will be more advantageous to go for a catamaran or yacht.

Which Destination to Choose?

If you already have chosen your vessel, it’s time to look for the right destination for you. Your steps will most likely be directed to the south of Europe, to warmer seaside areas, ideally those where the weather is stable. Among the best destinations for sailing we can include several universal tips, on the other hand, something may suit everyone differently.

Among the best sailing destinations, we can certainly mention the Croatian Zadar, which is also very popular for sailing on the sea according to statistics. It’s no wonder, it offers beautiful islands, stable weather, and fun opportunities on both land and sea. The third Croatian tip for sailing  is Šibenik, perhaps a bit overlooked in the past, but nowadays increasingly interesting in the eyes of tourists. Popular destinations can also be found in Greece, specifically ancient Athens. Next, there is the Istrian peninsula, which is shared by three countries – Croatia, Italy and Slovenia. We will finish the calculation of tips on the picturesque Greek island of Lefkada, which offers one of the most interesting coasts – not only in this region, but also in the whole Europe.
