Week 3 of the NFL season will see a battle between NFC North opponents. This week the Green Bay Packers will get to host a divisional rival, as the Detroit Lions come to Wisconsin. The Packers are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Minnesota Vikings on the road, while the Lions lost at home by a point to the Tennessee Titans. Two teams are coming off a loss, looking to turn things around.

Now both teams are capable of putting up some serious points. The Lions displayed that in week one when they put up 39 on the road in Indy. That same week, the Packers scored 27 on the road in Jacksonville. Both teams were held under 20 last week, however. But this week, Aaron Rodger and Matthew Stafford are set to go back and forth in what I have a feeling will turn into the highest scoring match-up of the week.

But I do not think the Lions will be able to hang on as the game moves on. The Packers are going to be on a mission following a big divisional loss to the Vikings. As a result, the Lions are simply going to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. The Packers are going to put up a number this week. So you better hope you are not facing Aaron Rodgers this week in fantasy.

The Packers also possess a better defense when compared to the Lions. While it is not the best defense in the league, it is surely a step up from the Lions’ unit. Then let’s factor in the Lions being without running back Ameer Abdullah, who has been placed on injured reserve. So the club will be without one weapon, just giving the Packers a little extra edge. So when all is said and done, 7.5 points is a lot, but the Packers can surely cover it this week.
